Namibia: Ships and Seals

The Skeleton Coast is named after the beached whale and seal bones which covered the shore when the whaling industry was still active, as well as the skeletal shipwrecks caused by rocks offshore in the fog. It is reported that more than a thousand vessels of various sizes litter the coast.

We stopped to visit a colony of Cape Fur Seals.
